About this course

This online course will give you insight in DNA, genetics, breeding goals, selection methods and seed production. The course will help/allow you to grasp the basics of the total breeding program, comprehend why todays breeding goals are varieties of the future and it explains the jargon and gives full insight in the process of developing of new varieties (from gene to euro).
Should I enroll? If you need a quick brush-up about the plant breeding process or want to make a head start in your new job the answer is yes.

What can you expect?

The online course consists of 3 modules. Each module offers different work methods like short lectures, articles and video's with assignments and knowledge tests. The course content is mainly related to practical applications and more complex theoretical content is only added when absolutely necessary.

Course duration

The entire program consists of 3 modules with an average study load of 3 hours per module.

You can start the course any time you want. After receiving your payment, we will send you a personal login code. This login code will be sent to you within one week by email. You should finish the course in 2 months. If this is not possible, please contact us.

For who?

The course is for people who are working at, or about to be employed at a plant breeding company who are not breeding themselves. For example you are working at the department of financials, sales, purchase, Human Resource Management, ICT, Legals or you are working as an executive secretary or policy maker.

Requirements

The course is at bachelor’s level.

Language

The course is offered completely in English.

Certification

After successful completion of all modules, you will receive a certificate of attendance from HAS University of Applied Sciences and Breedwise.
