Professorship Future Food Systems is looking, per 1 October 2025, to appoint:

A Junior Researcher Future Food Systems

Location: ’s Hertogenbosch

The appointment is for 0.8 FTE and is initially for a duration of one year.

Details of the position

The successful candidate will:

o    Carry out research into food systems and transitions

o    Co-manage transdisciplinary research projects with external partners

o    Co-write publications

o    Contribute to the education programmes of HAS, including management of student assignments

o    Organize research group project meetings and activities; assist in (capacity) planning

o    Contribute to the execution of general tasks of the chair

 

Requirements

Candidates must have:

o    A Master’s degree in a relevant field

o    Knowledge and experience in research

o    A broad orientation and knowledge about the agrifood domain, and about food systems

o    The ability to work independently

o    The ability to prioritize and cope with deadlines

o    Excellent written and spoken Dutch and English skills

o    Interest in and/or affinity with Academic writing

 

Are you

o    Analytical, curious, hands-on and pro-active

o    Diplomatic with a good sense for relationships

o    Someone who can work independently and in a team

o    A good communicator and writer

General/conditions of employment

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Higher Professional Education. Remuneration will depend on your education and experience. HAS provides a competitive employment package, which includes a fixed thirteenth month, an attractive collective healthcare insurance policy, a contribution towards your own healthcare insurance and 8% holiday pay.
