The results of the HBO Monitor 2025 show that HAS green academy stands strong as a knowledge institution for the future. Our graduates rate their programme more than 10% higher than the national average. While overall satisfaction nationwide stands at 67%, HAS scores 78%. A result we can all be proud of.
HAS green academy, university of applied sciences and knowledge institution for agriculture, food and the living environment in Den Bosch and Venlo, has won an international design award. The new house style, created by Venlo based design studio Luidspreker, has been awarded a Red Dot Design Award: Brands & Communication Design 2023 in the category Corporate Design & Identity.
Under the leadership and direction of Frans van Leijden, HAS green academy (in his time HAS hogeschool) in Venlo has become a vibrant branch. As a tribute to him, following his death in 2020, we have therefore created the Frans van Leijden Award. This year we are presenting this award for the 2nd time.

Winners FoodmanShip Awards revealed! On 30 January, the promising winners of the FoodmanShip Awards 2024 were announced at the annual HAS Food Experience, organised by HAS green academy. Six driven students, almost ready to enter the job market, were awarded for their exceptional contributions to the food systems and nutrition of the future. All within the theme: 'Taste the Future'.
The Supervisory Board has appointed Patrick Cramers as Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board of HAS green academy with effect from 17 June. Patrick is currently Director of Life Sciences and Chemistry at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. Chair Anita Wouters (Supervisory Board): 'I am delighted that we have been able to recruit a second director with relevant knowledge and experience and a nice additional profile to the President of the Executive Board Reggy van der Wielen. Together, they can take HAS green academy one step further. In recent years, Patrick has gained a lot of knowledge in education, research and strategic business operations.'
We're excited to share that four students from our International Food & Agribusiness (IFA) programme have been nominated for the esteemed Groenpact Impact Prize 2024.
Carolina, a 4th-year student at the International Food & Agribusiness programme, is this year's proud winner of the Adri den Dekker Prize. With this incentive prize, HAK challenges students each year to come up with the best idea to make agriculture more sustainable and future-proof. The prize includes a study cheque of €2,000.
IntroFood100 recently presented the 100 most influential Dutch food changemakers of the moment for the eighth time, and HAS teacher Bram van Helvoirt has also been nominated!

Juan Felipe Camacho Mancheno, a fourth-year International Food & Agribusiness student at HAS green academy, has been announced as this year’s proud winner of the Adri den Dekker Prize. This prestigious award, presented annually by HAK, challenges students to develop the best ideas to make agriculture more sustainable and future-proof. The prize also includes a €2000 scholarship.

In a society where social connection and health are becoming increasingly urgent themes, the HAS Food Experience 2026 shows how young explorers in the agro and food sector are building a circular future. Under the theme ‘The Circle of Food’, students demonstrate that food innovation is not only about technology and taste, but also about people, systems and a fresh perspective on the value of food.
