Video: Cultivation Project
In the second year of the Horticulture & Business Management degree, you work in a team on a cultivation project. You choose both a crop and a practical issue to tackle, such as fertilisation, irrigation, or plant health. The project runs throughout the academic year. Before you begin growing, you draw up a full plan: including trial design, fertilisation strategy, irrigation schedule, and health management approach. Once your plan has been approved, you start in the greenhouse. Later on, trials are often carried out outdoors or in the climate chambers at HAS. Companies are closely involved in these projects. They provide research questions, contribute ideas, and share materials and expertise. You’ll also go on excursions to explore your chosen crop in greater depth.
