HAS green academy once again named best green university of applied sciences in the Netherlands

What happens when curious explorers, passionate students and committed lecturers work together to shape the future of agro, food and living environment? You get education that truly matters. And that doesn’t go unnoticed: HAS green academy has once again been named the best green university of applied sciences in the Netherlands in the Keuzegids hbo 2026. We also proudly rank fifth nationally among medium-sized universities of applied sciences.

The Keuzegids is an independent guide that annually assesses higher education in the Netherlands. Based on student satisfaction and study success, programmes are evaluated and the highest scoring ones receive the Top Programme designation. A valuable benchmark for prospective students and the professional field.

Weโ€™re proud of our programmes that received the Top Programme designation:

๐Ÿ”น Applied Biology (Venlo)

๐Ÿ”น Animal Husbandry (Den Bosch) โ€“ second year in the top

๐Ÿ”น Horticulture & Arable Farming / Horticulture & Business Management (Den Bosch)

๐Ÿ”น International Food & Agribusiness (Den Bosch)

๐Ÿ”น Associate degree Green Living Environment (Den Bosch)

Horticulture & Arable Farming / Horticulture & Business Management and the Associate degree Green Living Environment are both new to the Top Programme list this year. This recognition highlights two programmes that challenge students to take a broad, future-focused view on the living environment. While Horticulture & Arable Farming focuses on sustainable cultivation, soil health and innovative production systems, the associate degree offers a practical route for students eager to contribute to a healthy, green environment. Both programmes are closely aligned with the needs of the professional field.

What stands out: our programmes consistently score above average on student progression and study success. Students move smoothly into their second year and graduate in high numbers. This reflects the quality of our education and the dedication of our lecturers. We create a learning environment where students feel seen, challenged and supported to grow: both professionally and personally.

“We’re proud of this recognition,” says Patrick Cramers, member of the Executive Board. “It shows that our programmes are not only strong in content, but also truly support students in successfully completing their studies. This is thanks to the commitment of our staff and the proactive attitude of our students. Moreover, our programmes align well with the needs of the professional field. We educate professionals who are ready to contribute to current challenges in agro, food and living environment.”
