HAS Food Experience reaches the last 3 in the European final round EEPA Awards

The HAS Food Experience organised by HAS University of Applied Sciences is representing the Netherlands during the final round of the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) 2018. During the final round, HAS Food Experience will be competing against projects from Portugal and Slovakia in the category ‘Supporting the development of green markets and resource efficiency’. There are 6 categories in total. They will be judged on originality and feasibility, impact on the local economy, improvement of relations with stakeholders and transferability. HAS University of Applied Sciences has supported the submission with references from involved students, entrepreneurs and government.

On the shortlist

On 26 September, EEPA announced the 19 projects that have made the final shortlist. These are the most original and successful initiatives from governments and public-private partnerships in the EU. In total, there were 303 entries from 32 countries. 56 entries went on to the preliminary rounds. Prizes will be awarded during the EEPA Award Ceremony as part of the SME Assembly in Austria on 20 November.

HAS Food Experience is a top-quality inspiring food event, showcasing innovative projects and concepts for the future from upcoming food professionals following the various study programmes at HAS University of Applied Sciences. Last January was the 10th time that HAS University of Applied Sciences has opened its doors for this day full of inspiration, interaction and food experiences, attracting no less than 1,500 visitors. The next edition is on 5 February 2019.

About the EEPA Awards

The aim of the EEPA Awards is to stimulate innovation in Europe and to identify and reward intitiatives that promote entrepreneurship. The Awards are intended for central and regional governments, academic institutions, schools and public-private collaborations that stimulate entrepreneurship with creative and inspiring projects. The European Commission has been organising the Awards for over 10 years.
